How to Succeed in Business with a Liberal Arts Degree

Wednesday, April 3
4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Illini Union, Illini Room A

Guest Speaker: Keith Taylor, President of the Modest Needs Foundation

In August of 1999, Keith Taylor entered academia with a newly minted PhD in medieval British literature, a coveted tenure-track job at a well-known university and every intention of spending the rest of his life as a member of the professoriate.
Today, Keith is known not for his academic work, but as the president and founder of Modest Needs Foundation, a unique non-profit organization that has grown from a personal project with an initial budget of $4,200 per year to an award-winning, multi-million dollar enterprise.
People often ask how he was able to make the transition from medievalist to successful social entrepreneur. Come listen to Keith's response and discover the answer is deceptively simple. In the final analysis, everything he needed to know as a social entrepreneur he learned through his study of the humanities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win prizes.
